Based on the model last week, I modify it and finally decided to develop my toy from gummy man to star angle because I really like the shape of the first model and I hope to keep developing it. Before I changed my idea, I made some tests with chewing gums and tried to model it, but I didn't get the effect that I'm satisfied with and during this process, the idea of star man jumped into my brain. During the process of modification, I switch the hands into wings and give the star little eyes and blusher to make it look cuter.

The aim of star angle is to give people warmth. Star symbolizes hope and guidance and also stands for my childhood memory watching stars with my mom. However, we can seldom see stars in the city sky at night. Therefore, I made the star angle to tell people there are always star and hope around you. The star angle is also a gift to my mom because in Chinese, one of the characters in my name stand for star and I hoped to use this toy to send my remote companion my mom.
My initial idea for making this toy is by 3d printing or needle felt. However, when I'm searching for materials, I found a toy made by the light weight stone clay. I found the lightweight stone clay really appealing to me and I searched for the making references and related artist who are using light stone clay to make toys. Also, another reason for mainly working with stone clay is I think the toys made by this material have more traces of hand temperature and is better for creating toys that are aiming to send people warmth.
