Firstly, I started with several sketches from baby yoda to little cool guy. Then I found several materials that I'm interested in and finally I decided to use clay to shape my model
Then I started my experience with the clay and I find using clay to model the wood head and the face is not easy and during the time I'm playing with the wood head, I have the face on the right sight and it reminds me of ultraman which is also one of my most favorites cartoon when I was young and it reminds me of a funny meme that the ultraman wearing the military coat and look like a normal person. I really like the meme and wanted to re-create it.
The shape of the wood doll make me think for a long time about how to make the body of the character. My initial thought is keeping the cylinder, but when I'm making the ultranman, I hope to play with the hands and more details of the clothes, so that's the reason why the final ultraman come out with two hands in the pockets. Also, based on the materials I found in the floor, I made a small gold necklace for the ultraman to make it looks cool.
After making the shape of the ultraman, I use acrylic to color it.
Here are the final outcome of the little toy and my goal for this little character is you can play with it by decorating it like putting a necklace or a sunglasses or scarf to make it look cooler : )
